one more 2009-LP-2 5th DDR / Die Variety/new pic's My buddy Charles Cataldo owner Alabama Coin & Silver came from a show with 2 Box's 2009-P LP-2 roll.He found what he thinks is a 5th DDR. here is photo of it.I put a red line where the DDR is
I can't keep up with the numbering systems! In any event, Wexler already lists 10 varieties http://doubleddie.com/60701.html Is his one of those 10? Or a new one?
That area does look raised, and also indication of seperation lines ,and not distorted in anyway very interesting specimen. I think it could be a DDR, but a minor one. I would say it's a possible new variety ,because this one is not listed. I don't see signs of Machine doubling or Die deterioration doubling. I would have to examine this one in hand to make a positive determination or not JC
It show the same marks in the hand below the thumb above the lines you put there. A different shot from another angle could help.
Folk I wore out my Pentax 10mp it off getting repair. I am using a 3.5mp Pentax now till my good one is repaired But I will try some different angels :kewl:
New pic's I found a die crack or maybe a clash, here the new photos. this new camera I using is only 3.5MP and all pictures are so dark, but I will find away to get them better soon!!!!
No Jello it's not a clash they are die cracks there exstending from the rim out to the fields just a die crack. JC
JC you maybe right. I need more time to tuneup this camera and show how deep this crack or clash is.:loud:
I lighten it up for you Jello these are just a series of nice die cracks from rim to the field no clash I don't see any indications of that my friend. I also see a die gouge upper northeast from the crack. The one in blue is a die gouge. This coin has a lot of white spots from moisture JCFormerly jazzcoins Joe
The crack or clash look like part of log reverses.I was going to bring it to Charles shop today he has software that will see if the shape fit in the crack or clash.
Well now were looking somewhere else that looks like a die chip now to me by th point were i put the arrow Jello .I magnified it 400 hundred times it's normal size, and it looks like a die chip to me in that area apparently this coin has a die gouge some die cracks, and a die chip no clashing. What youn are saying log reverses it would be the obverse of the detail you would have on the reverse not the reverse detail JC
Too early to tell Well yes & no if the scape fits Charles will email Wexler with photos.then it depend on what Wexler has to say???? I have more than 1 I will add 1 in your mailer
You are such a good friend Jello. I do enjoying examining any coin you want me to look at . Thanks Buddy jazzcoins Joe and just coins

I don't care what anyone thinks but your a true friend! on my next trip to New York were going to meet for drinks & Dinner at the Fryer Tuck! I still know the owner too well there family!:thumb:
That's very interesting I played the fryer Tuck years ago in the lounge with a jazz trio. I will take you up on that my good friend Do they serve Baked Ziti there?:eating:
I have a pretty cool find from the LP2 Denver roll.It appears to be a reverse die clash.I've had another friend say it might be a die gouge. But it lines up to well with the obverse device.I would show it in here. but I just started coming in here today and I haven't quite figured out the picture thing in here yet.It is listed on ebay under 2009 D Formative Die Clash.and it ends in a few hours.I don't expect a lot for it.But it's a nice change from the thousands of DDRs I'm not yet convinced on.
