This is sort of a double thread... Since it involves PaperMoney and Coins , I thought I would put it in both places..Mods can correct it if you want! A special Thank You to the Noost for doing me a favor... He sent me these on a special request!! Since many of you do not visit the Paper Money Fourm...here it is for all you Numismatist! Thanks Noost!! Regards, RickieB
In a Book about PaperMoney engravers I found it listed...it was engraved by Thomas Hipschen, the man who engraved parts of the current $100 note! I found it on Ebay...asked The Nooost to call on since I do not like Ebay and he did..now it is in with my Paper Collection. It covers our interest in this Hobby and Thought it should be shared! Regards, RickieB
That's pretty cool. The low relief Gaudens design is overused but I like that they also added the flying eagle.
Half Stamped While going "WoW!!!! Way Wonderful to have a chance to see such art, it occurred to me, What gets a .29 Cent stamp on it these daze? Stamps/Coins/Green all in one place. Gotta be good.
I'm not sure anything does. This is an old design not something new. It came out in 1991 and was to commemorate the ANA's 100th anniversary.
lol Conder, you should change your avatar title to 'Cointalk Oracle'. Seriously. You've earned it. Cool stamps.
Yes it was released in 1991....here are the other details for your info... While reading my book the Engravers Line by Mr. Gene Hessler, I came upon a unique postage stamp that was engraved by Mr. Thomas Hipschen and the Letter/Numbers were engraved by Mr. Richard Everett. Hipschen also engraved parts of the current $100 note. It is indeed a unique stamp that adds a bit of "shine" to any collection! RickieB
