Hi, I was looking thru ebay's currency section and came by some really nice and affordable bills from a certain buyer (I won't mention the persons ebay I.D. until I speak with ebay and Heritage auctions) If you want the name please send me a PM I just don't want to put myself in any kind of jeopardy until I am 100% sure. But after going thru all of his certified bills I noticied they were all pictures from Heritage auctions so I went to H.A. to see if I could find the price on certain bills to get an idea of what they were going for and to my suprise every bill they had in there buy it now section he had on his ebay site. He listed 33 large currency items and 24 bills were H.A. items for sale at this time. All the bills are certified by PMG or PCGS Thanks Randy :secret::bigeyes: Here are few of the notes posted by the Ebay seller......
Were his eBay buy-in-now prices higher than the buy-it-now's on Heritage? If so, there's probably not 'technically' anything wrong with what he's doing.
His prices are cheaper than the prices on Heritage. But he is selling a bill that belongs to Heritage. The bills he posted on ebay are the same exact bills on Heritage.I don't know how he can get away with it because they have the same serial#'s and id#'s from PMG and PCGS.I noticed he sold a bill and received a positive feedback from the buyer and that bill is for sale on Heritages site at this time.Unless the buyer didn't realize the different serial# on his bill.RB
Nice catch! I guess that if the Bills are actually his', then there is probably nothing wrong with what he is doing! However, it is hard to believe that Heritage would offer them up for Auction and still let this eBay Seller list them. Something just doesn't seem right here! Frank
I'm not certain, but perhaps if the items didn't sell at last auction, the seller may have the right to still offer them in " buy it now" through heritage and still conduct a private sale. Good question, nice catch and please do let us know what Heritage says about this.
Dealers are allowed to post on 2 different sites Dealers may list their inventories on Heritage auctions under virtual bourse or buy it now after an approval process. To continue listing, they must follow certain rules to follow through on transactions. This eBay user just happens to also be offering their inventory on HA's site. Randy
heritage So, is what I suggested accurate? or may a dealer simply list inventory under the buy it now without having failed to sell at the heritage auction?
