Hello all, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I received this coin as a gift and I am wondering it's worth. It is a 1st Looney Tunes Limited Edition 1987 Yosemite Sam Silver Proof in orig. box with assay certificate #1 of 15,000 made by The Highland Mint. Any information on it's collectivity and or worth will be greatly appreciated.:kewl:
Welcome to CoinTalk, Art. What you have is not a coin; is sounds like a silver bullion piece. It was made by a private mint and has no monetary value. It is certainly worth its metal content. With silver a bit below $15/oz it should be worth somewhere around $15 iff it is 1 oz. of 0.9999 silver. If people actually collect these it may have some added collector value. You should search eBay for completed auctions and see if any of these things have sold in the past.
Yeah I agree with that. More than likely these Looney Tunes silver rounds will go for more than metal content on ebay. I have seen in the past some of these 1-oz Looney Tunes silver rounds go for between $25-$30 if you factor in shipping costs. I would do a search in ebay for Looney Tunes silver rounds and track the auction price to see what the price action is for these 1-oz silver rounds. It will give you an idea of how much they are going for on ebay.
Thanks for the quick reply. I do realize it's not a coin:smile. Thought someone on this site may have info for me. I have checked Ebay..nada Thanks again.:rolling:
I have never seen one of these but it sure sounds more fun to collect than a normal U.S. silver bullion coin where the only thing that changes is the date and like last year the font.
not the same but similar http://coins.shop.ebay.com/?_from=R...3&_nkw=Looney+Tunes+silver+round&_sacat=11116
