I inherited silver certificates, red seals, federal reserve notes, star notes from 1928-1963. My elderly neighbor wants first shot at buying some of these before I sell online, and I want to be fair with him. The prices on ebay are all over and I'm having trouble assigning a value. Silver coins are much easier! lol! I posted several pictures on a Google page because they are rather big. These are not for sale - just for observation/pricing. At least I think it is the 2 letters on each side of the serial number which may be significant. Where do I find out? Anyway, I'll try to upload some of the smaller pics. All are circulated. If I were to sell outside of a dealer I would say $115 on the 1934C hundred, $105 on the 1934 hundred, $8 on the 1950A red seal and $12 on the 1963 five. I'll let others chime in on the silver certificates. BTW: I would just give away that last SC that you have pictured as a bonus to whomever buys these notes. It'll never be worth more than face but could be a fun gag to show off.

Wow! Thanks everybody for the input. I was wondering about the $20 1950B star note that was in the link I posted. I see one on ebay asking for $159 which is a lot of money for me. Let me see if the other images I thought were too big will upload. I've got hundreds of these bills and it is impractical to post every single one. Just trying to get a ball park range. Thanks again.
if you litterally have hundreds of notes.... i might suggest you visit a dealer for an appraisal.. or buying the books we use to guess the value I use the Paper Money Of The United States of the friedberg book Another good book is Small Size US Paper Money 1928 to Date by: Schwartz, Lindquist But if you were to buy either book.. i would look around for the best price There are alot of nice book and price guides to give you an accurate assesment... jut take your pick
The first book, Paper Money of the United States seems to have way more stuff than I need. I'm only dealing with small size notes. For example, I have about 250 $1 silver certificates, 1957A, all in about the same circulated condition, and I doubt that book talks about each one and what it is worth. The next book, Small Size US Paper Money 1928 to Date, looks more promising. I see a used one on Amazon for $1.60. I may get that since I'll only use it once. Thanks for the help.
Make sure you get the 8th edition of the S/L Book...also make sure you read about different seal colors, Mules, errors, mismatched SN's, and signatures! Also on the Silver certs make sure you understand about each Series Date.... There is a lot to know with the small size notes. Old backs, new backs, plate numbers, stars...lots to know..... Take you time and read, then read again.....LOL Sounds like I am crazy huh?? well I have been known to collect a few small size notes here and there... You might actually be surprised some blocks or print runs.. certain serial combinations ect... basicaly yes, some otherwise normal looking notes are certainly worth more then the note next to it So while not every single note of you might be covered in the books... unless you post every note on this forum, you might let go a note that IS worth more then the rest.
