Here is my pic. I don't know much about value on errors. I just got the "strike it rich with pocket change book" today so I literally looked at all the change in my house. This is what I found. I could not find a representation of it in the book, but it does not look like an after strike error to me that is. Edit: I guess I never actually asked a question. Does anyone dispute that this is an error coin? I guess that is why I posted the pic, for confirmation and to show off a little... Edit: Somewhat of a side note question, I have a nikon P90 and I can focus manually better than I can from it's auto focus, or auto macro. Is this how it is supposed to be. Cause my eyes are not fine tune enough to get perfect focus. Am I not using the auto focus properly? If anyone knows the answer to my question it would be much appreciated.
hi, guy. Well, it does look like it could be an error. possibly a lightly greased ide. It also could be a post mint scrape, I'd need a close up to be able to see if there were scrapes in the area.
This is the best photos I can take right now. I put more light so I could increase the shutter speed.
Hello, S_C_G, I've been thinking about getting that book. I was whooping happy when I started finding weak "4" 1943 steelies from my horde. I've now found so many they are now loosing their appeal. So I was hoping to start finding something more interesting, with guidance. As for the Nikon~Have you tried checking through the various modes of focus? I've found this helpful with my camera. Another hint is to try using an "Apature Priority" mode. This increases how much will be in focus at the expense of having to use a longer exposure time.
I like the book. Most recommend the Cherry Pickers Guide, but that book series is actually a two part book series, and if you want to look at the modern coins in your pocket, then you have to buy both books. The, "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change" has all the moderns you find in the general public. The real trade off is that it has no oldies what so ever.
That area is frequently weak. One, grease seems to like to collect there, and two it is opposite the base of the bust on the other side which requires a lot of metal to fill up thus reducing the striking pressure in that area
