1890 is a common date, I would say the coin has XF details, hard to tell from the pics but it looks like it may be cleaned. IMO I would say it's worth about $20. Nice Morgan though!
Thanks for the response..Well, I can say that if it HAS been cleaned it hasnt been so in 40 years. Thats how long it has been put up in a plastic bag in a hope chest. My pictures came out clearer than the coin looks awfully dark/blackish color..I havent tried to clean it or anything yet..I just got it today. Thank you again for response. Brad
I have a few coins i have saved over the years but never collected hard core so to speak. I have a few booker t washingtons and others not sure off top of head. My grandfather owned a gas station up till 1983 when he passed away. He had a coke & pepsi machine. On saturday's i would empty the coins out & look for odd or old ones. I got them put up in a safety deposit box, so im not sure what all i have. I was mainly just curious about what this one might be worth. I didnt figure it was too valuable but ya never know. Something over a 100 years old ya dont see everyday. Best regards, Brad
In my opinion it is not cleaned. On the obverse that beam of light going across looks like cartwheel luster to me. Great looking coin, toned as well!
Hi Brad, It's a great coin with very little wear, and a lot of nice detail. It dosen't need cleaning and most folks here would discourage cleaning it, as that would decrease it's value. Welcome to the forum!!!
