I'm not to familiar with barber halves but, The NumisMedia value is $216 in XF40 and $348 in AU50, so the price should be somewhere around the middle. The auction hasn't even reached the XF40 value, so the price doesn't look bad yet.

    I'm actually surprised they didn't give it a 50.

So this is seen as a good buy at the $200 level?, that struck me as high but it is pretty though

A bargain at that price Dan, you prolly wont win it at the $200 level. The coin is a looker and many follow these with a passion.

Don't be surprised, this sellers items sell for HUNDREDS under retail, if they are expensive
And the other things sell near wholesale :)

I guess I will be the dissenting opinion on this coin. I personally think it is hideous. I don't trust any seller with angled photos. The toning which he describes as great, is not. The face is a mess and almost looks pitted or corroded. Of course I can't tell because the photo is so bad. The stars should have much better detail in that grade and there is something going on with the word "WE". The reverse is no more redeeming than the obverse. My opinion: PASS!

I think this coin is only a little over half way home. It will probably hammer closer to $300-$325, IMHO. We'll see. End time may be a factor.

I wouldn't spend $20 on that coin. It looks dull and lifeless. You can find a much nicer piece for that money.

Not a bad coin, but overpriced at that level, IMO.

Whole set in this condition would be incredible

The coin looks like a nice EF with toning & little luster. I see no problems. It is a solid EF & is worth EF money in my opinion. I would not recommend paying AU money for it. Obviously most nice EF coins like this have been dipped at which point they are just white coins with little luster.

The price is another story. I suspect that in 6 hours it may go for more than the current $200. For this money & a little looking around, you might find something better with luster and more eye appeal IMO.

    Very best regards,

:smileI would pay $20 each for a whole set of those EF coins. That would be an incredible toned circulated set:smile.
