    Hello,
I have a Pin that was minted in 1813 by Nicolas HERUT'AUX or Heruthaux who was one of Napoleons Minters 1805-1815,engraver several jetons, Masonic Jetons for The Lodge of Angers 1811 ect. His name is under Napoleons Arm. On the coin/pin there is Napoleon, Marie Louise, Francis II .Around the outer edge it is written NAPOLEON EMP.ETROI. MRIE. LSE. IMP CE. ET RNE. FS. II EMP. D CHER. DE BME. ET DGRIE. The dots are under the last part of the words/names, but I cannot do this with my computer. I tried to find some History on HERUT'AUX unfortunately he seems to have vanished after 1815 and nothing is known of him after this.
In researching this pin, I have read extensively about Napoleon History, it is very impressive. I have written to Historians, Museums, and Forums and they found it to be very unusual, the date of 1813 and these three people on this pin,Written Francis Emp.II, and actually the pin itself is unusual. I have gotten pictures from France of the 1810 Commerative, there is a difference in the wording, same font, Napoleon has a extra tassel, the noses on all look different, the picture they sent I cannot see the breast plates. As far as I can see there is no writing on the back of the piece, but there is protruding pieces so the piece could attach to the pin mechinism, which has some writing on it, I cannot see all the letters as the pin mechanism is folded and it covers some of the letters. The pin is unusual in the way it locks on very securely. And everyone says it should not be Francis II, but that’s the way it is written.
I can see where HERUT'AUX would have tweaked his dies so he could go with the flow of 1813 and to coincide with the Napoleon Propaganda Machine, it seemed to be in full stride that year.
I would like to finally find out something.I beleive it is the only one out there. How would I find a value?
