This coin currently resides in my type set. It has decent details, but doesn't match the quality of coin I'm going for in the set, so I will probably be selling it soon for an upgrade. There are remnants of luster in the protected areas, especially the reverse. I'm not sure if it's been cleaned, or has just had a rough life. Opinions?

Lots of small stray marks, particularly on the obverse, but IMO the surfaces are original.
Probably would come out as an XF-40.

I'm thinking xf40 or au50, depending on the luster. It looks nice and original to me, a great coin!

There are a few minor scratches on the obverse, but probably not enough to keep the coin from grading a problem free XF-45.

    Xf-45. Nice coin!

The area above the eagle on the reverse is a bit disturbing as the color is different from the rest of the coin and I'd like to inspect it in-hand to be sure, but I see no obvious evidence of cleaning.

Nice coin. Far more original looking than most, and I'd be proud to own it...MIke

p.s. I'd TPG grade the coin 40, but probably pay 45 money for it as I value originality.

thanks for the comments. The photos may be a bit deceiving as it really isn't that great in the eye appeal department. The surface is just a little "rough", I don't know how else to explain it. Anyways, I may just put it on the bay and see what happens...

    Original coins rarely are.
