Looked at this 71 and it appears to have adoubling on the"7". The rest of the number has a build-up or kinda of doubling. If you think it is something, then I will take close-ups of the rest if you request. :loud:GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN SEVEN
I see no doubling that would indicate had doubling on the die. The size of the 7 is normal. On a doubled die the devices would be larger/wider/thicker. I don't see that on your coin. http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1873___1874_doubled_head_bands.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/Doubled_Die_GOD95.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/Doubled_Die_IN_64.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1968S-1DO-coop-10PR.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1983P-1DR-001.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1983P_DDO__1_909records.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1988_DDO_Cent.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1937S_1DO_002.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1962_D_DDR.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1962P_1DO_coop_008PR.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1963d1do001.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1963P_1TO_coop_01PRa.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1964_D_TDO.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1964_D_DO.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1964DDR_UNI.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1959_Reg_and_DR.jpg Hope this helps.
Thanks for the pictures coop. That larger/wider/thicker will require closer inspecting. Have you ever thought about a book of your pics.? Sign me up if you do. Of course I would require a signed copy you know.
I've started one, but set that aside for now. I nned to be able to teach something that is not already covered in other publications. I've even thought about a CD with images on it instead of print page. But ideas just set aside till I get more time. I appreciate your thought Rock Dude. Coins collectors are a bunch of good eggs.
I take my digital camera and place my 10X loupe in front of it. Make sure you turn off the flash, and have a steady hand.:high5:
I use a digital macro feature camera and take images through a microscope. Edit with Photoshop. I've taken close to 15 thousand images and keep the best ones to share, the rest I erase and re-use the disks.
