Well it's everyones favorite "The 09 Coins will not be key dates" basher... T.....MONEY!!!! http://coins.shop.ebay.com/items/Co...ual&_fln=1&_sacat=11116&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282 Now just look at ebay... Seems as though they are flooded with 2009 P dimes!!!! The nickels will still sell high, for a little while longer, until all those are found as well... Now, wonder when the D's will hit the market for dimes... Hopefully I'll be the first for D dimes, because all we get in San Antonio is Denver minted coins...
All i gotta say is you dont want to be holding the bag when the bubble pops. I still think they will sell good but the price will drop below the $10 mark. A lot of the ones you see out there are sellers who have bought rolls from me and one other seller and are trying to cash in on the hype. Soon it will be too late. Whoever finds D's will be making some goooood money as well.
I have 2 2009 dimes left. One is up for auction with a starting bid of 99 cents (with a bonus coin of a 2009 log cabin). I have ZERO bids. They are everywhere on ebay now. My bid closes tomorrow. Just 30 hours ago, on Sunday, I sold two for slightly over 10 bucks. I assume the one I have up for bid now will get a bid or two and maybe sell for 1.50. The bubble has burst. The sellers put WAY too many out there to keep the prices high. It looks like my timing, and all of the 2nd chance ones I sold was just about right.
I think the sellers of these dimes panicked. There are currently 33 2009 P dimes closing in the next 24 hours. However, our own Manny is still the only one with the nickels.
I thought the same thing...people seem to be going crazy and hoping the prices dont drop any further. Im pretty much done with doing sets of dimes and nickels on Ebay and will be doing only nickels and single dimes/rolls. Rolls are selling easily for around $150 so that is not too bad. I have about 15 rolls of dimes left and a few more on the way. Truthfully I'd like to unload them as fast as possible before dimes take a dive. However if they can stay around the $5 to 10 range that will still be a good profit.
Listen to yourself Manny.....a $5 roll of current year dimes are going for $150 and you say that it is not "too bad." LOL. You are spoiled. When I started selling the dimes, my best friend took his family on a cruise. I picked them up when they returned and I told him what a good week I had on ebay. I told him that I sold 17 dimes (at the time) for $375. He asked me if they were 2009, and what they are worth. I told him yes, and 10 cents. Long pause. He then says, "Coin collectors are wacky people." LOL!!!
I meant to say "too bad" in a sarcastic kind of way. Us collectors are crazy people for sure... Everyone at some point in time will get really lucky, hell I think everyone in their lifetime hits their own version of the lottery. I'd have to say that these dimes and nickels are my version of the lottery.
Time to go to the bank... San Antonio doesn't even know what a P minted coin looks like! LOL We have all D's Hopefully I can get one in change
Best of luck to you tmoney...now please stop bashing 09's On a side note I got another nickel selling tonight and it is up to $85 with 3 hours to go. Whoever finds D's will get some good money.
I hope I find the D's My 2nd to last dime sold for $4.75 today, so there is still a premium on them though there are a bunch of them on ebay. I'm down to one left (other than the one in my Dansco and my son's Whitman). I'll try a couple of 2nd chance sales first. Now, someone find that "D" and make a mint!
Someone started to kill the roll market by doing $140 or Best Offer for rolls. The guy must be nuts to sell them for that much since they are easily selling for $150 each
I just sold a P&D set of the Tyler Dollars. It went for $132 + $5 shipping for $137. This is a good premium for $50 worth of coins. However, they are currently sold out at the mint (with the all important mint wrapper). You are selling, as a contrast, $5 worth of dimes that in a few months will be everywhere since they made 96 MILLION of them....and you are getting MORE!!! My friend was right (read above)....."Coin collectors are wacky."
Pismo, I'm using Bob's quote here, to show you, that these will be everywhere I don't know how else to say it These 09 Dimes, and Nickels are not rare... They will never be rare... Although the 09 nickels and dimes have a possibility of being SEMI KEY dates, in their own respective series, they will never be a key or semi key date, in numismatics as a whole
Someone on the PCGS forum went to their bank and the teller asked if they wanted a new dime. He ended up buying $415 dollars worth of 2009-P dimes. Why can't I find tellers who are that friendly and forthcoming?
I feel the same way... All my tellers are rude... But hey... We can't all be lucky... Just gotta keep tryin!
