    Greetings,
Do all modern commemorative silver dollar coins issued by the US mint weigh 26.73oz and are made of .900 silver? Where can I find composition information for halves?

    Peace,
    Dawn

The 1982 Washington half is the only modern half that is made of silver. All of the others are clad coinage that contains no silver.

    Hi Greyford,
Thank you for responding! I'm putting together a very comprehensive spreadsheet of silver coins including weights and silver percentages. In my research, I found that 2 commemorative halves were just like you stated. I've documented that the 1982 Washington half is .900 silver, but can't find a weight. Also, in all of my research I'm finding that the silver dollars have all weighed 26.73oz and are comprised of .900 silver. I can't find info for several coins though and while I definitely see a pattern, I don't want to just assume this information.

    Joy,

I would recommend that you check out The Official Red Book at your local library. It has all the info that you're looking for that then some.
