OK. Took a break for a few weeks and did a little more researh for my own knowledge. It was nice to get away from the multiple boxes every week. I would suggest that all beginners ( and some experts) not get discouraged and take a break occasionally. Anyways, on to the coin. For your viewing pleasrue and discussion is what I possibly believe to be either an Large over Small or a DDO. Some help from the crowd would be greatly appreciated.

Well if it was you would see the zero which will look like a smaller zero I do see some indications of this error. I see near the upper portion of the six and the lower portion also. I see something near the nine ,and it apears the zero looks a little larger in nature I do see what may be a lite mark above the D

The error is considered mondified hub doubling class V11 hub doubling Here's a pic the way your coin should look like. I would say it could be a doubled die but not this particular variety

Your coin is a 1960 D small date. There is no large date on it. I think there is just some hits (post mint damage) on the numbers making it look like something to you. The photo Jazz put up is a nice pic of how it should look for the lg/sm date.

Yep, looks like a normal small date to me. Only the 1960 P is considered rare. The 1960 D small date is common. Only the 1960 small
date is considered rare. The 1960 D small date is a common Lincoln cent.

A few corrections. If it was a small over large date or visa versa, it would be a DDO. The 1960-D small date only has the small over large date, along with the RPM-100.

The photo Joe posted is the 4th die stage of the coin , showing the odd "6". The first three die stages missing that seem to be even more rare than this one. Perhaps it is that most only look for this last stage and miss them, or they actually are very rare.

Fish, I have gone through OBW rolls of 1960-D SMall date, looking for DDO, but only many many RPMs.
