The other day i picked up several 2009-D half dollars at a bank. The interesting thing is that i have yet to find any other 2009 coinage in circulation yet! Does anyone know if the 2009 half dollars are intended for circulation or not? And for that matter were the 2008? (I found some of those too!) Thanks. P.S. I'm on the east coast, so finding 2009D, leads me to believe someone bought a mint roll and spent them.
Those halves weren't intended for circulation... Like you said, Somebody popped open a mint roll, and spent them
half dollars haven't been issued for general circulation since 2001 so I'd say your guess is spot on.
