I have 2 1919-D's I was thinking about having graded. Does anyone see any reason either of these would not grade? Any comment on the grade also welcome. As a way to distinguish them, I will call the first RED and the second YELLOW. In hand, the RED is a little more muted and the YELLOW is a little more yellow. BTW, I like the wood grain effect.
The irredescent colors in the first one would probably get you bagged "questionable color" The second coin should slab no problem.
I disagree... I've seen coins of that color be graded before, although color is more consistent throughout the coin, I see no reason why that would not graded Now, I believe the second coin is a nice one, and might get graded... But with all that black chatter going on, I wouldn't know what to grade it... It would be interesting to see what the second one comes back as!
Based on eye appeal, I like the red over the yellow. The black streaks on the yellow turn me off. They should both grade MS but the number is anyone's guess.
