Behold the first Lincoln cooper proofs in about 28 years. Someone had a buy now for 15 bucks for just the Lincoln proofs so I bought 4 sets. Sorry about the poor photos. Now off to NGC.

I supposedly have a set coming NGC certified 69 in a 4 coin holder. I got lucky and got it for $36. Every other one I saw went for $50+ and several were $100+. I have no idea how I got so lucky.

Wow..You did really well. I saw those auctions on Ebay. Most were going for 75 bucks and up and I think a few went for over a hundred.:thumb:

I am not complaining except that I should have bid a little more on a couple sets that went in the $50 range.

How much is NGC charging to grade and slab these in the four coin holder?

Yeah..I think once people see this are in hand and ready the prices will go close to a 100 bucks for the 4 piece set until things settle down. Awesome grab at $36.
I am hoping to get at least one set of 70's and sell them along with a couple 69 sets and keep one 69 set for myself. That way I will have one set and the sales will pay for the rest and maybe make a fews bucks. I am thinking the 70 sets will probably start off around $200-250 initially.

The guy's listing said $48, but I suspect that is just hype. As a guess, $28 when done in quantity.

Thanks TM me too! Tater they charge 12.50 per coin for modern. so 200 bucks for those coins minus 10 percent discount for online so $180. Cost me $60 for the coins off Ebay and $7 to ship to NGC plus $27 return shipping.
Total $274 divided by 16 coins is about $17 per coin. I did have two other modern coins in there so maybe a little less than $17. So If I get all 69's back I need to get at least 70 bucks for the 4 coin set. Better get some 70's!

Just looked at my invoice. It was $230 for 18 coins so about $12.75 in grading fees per coin including the return shipping.

I ran down my cost. That is for single coin holders. Not sure if any difference for the 4 coin holder and dealers submitting in quantity.

Not to be a fly in the ointment, but I was wondering if most of these on EBay were being sold by dealers who thought they weren't good enough for certification?
I bought a set anyway,I wanted a set the proof cents to keep and I thought 18 bucks was reasonable.

That's actually a good question. They dealers probably did cherry pick a bit. I should know my results in a few weeks on my 16 coins and will post when I get them.

I know for bulk lots (100+ coins) they paid $7 each about 2 years ago. There are other conditions that go with it and I am sure that the price has not gone down recently.

Thanks. Now that is a nice discount. I am not sure if was worth it for me to submit them. I should at least come close to breaking even with just PF69's and any PF70's will just be gravy.
