What would the value of a 1965 Lincoln cent with a clipped planchet at 10:00
position be ? Pretty good sized clip which actually runs from about the 9:00 pos. (L in Liberty is missing) to the 11:00 pos. (just touches the O in God) I know there isn't a great deal of value in it but just curious ? It's the first one I have ever found and thought it was kinda cool !

I'm not much for error values, but I know you have to be careful with clips... there are many ways to manufacture a clip in a coin. For example, hitting it with a hammer, sanding down the edge, etc. I have found one triple-clipped cent that was certified as authentic, and a nickel with the faintest clip on the edge, also authentic. I'd say that you should A. Post a picture of it on here for us, because some of these guys on here are amazing with this stuff, and B. Take it to a reliable dealer. They can verify for you if it is authentic, and give you a possible price for it. Good luck, and a great find if it's real!!! :D

It's going to the coin club meeting Sunday , we have a dealer that is a member and very helpful . The clipped cent is just perfect as far as the clip itself goes and it doesn't look altered to me but then again i'm no expert lol , it fits perfectly with another cent and also the copper is there in the clip so I hope it's the real thing , anyway I was hoping someone knew the value of these but I'm sure I'll get an answer Sunday ! If it turns out to be real is it worth it to have it graded ???? ;)

I think I would, if I were you, especially if the coin's in great shape. My clipped penny is a bit too worn to make me want to send it for grading.
