I think I have a pretty good shot of this coin. Can anyone tell me its value and more about it? Thanks

I'm seeing a average circulated 1909 VDB Lincoln cent. Total mintage 27,995,000 This was the first year of the Lincoln cent, intended to recognize the 100th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. For some background on where the design came from Google "Victor David Brenner".

Value for a circulated 09 VDB is somewhere around $10 (retail) if you are lucky. Many are available on the collector market in uncirculated condition due to being a first year and many were saved in original rolls.

    Penny Guy said it all...
From the pics, yours looks like a VF-EF coin, and wouldn't fetch a whole lot
There was a high mintage, and you can get them in a better condition for not too much money
The VDB coins, that are worth money, are the San Francisco minted ones, that have a mintage of 404 THOUSAND coins...

The surface looks like it has been treated somehow, or maybe it's just the lighting.

Looks like an old cleaning, probably EF coin, worth about $12.
