So I bought 2 coins on Vcoins a couple of days ago, and he refunded me $50 for the cost of one of the coin without giving me any reasons? What should I do other than asking him for the reason?
I probably shouldn't have dealt with him after seeing all the warning signs, but can't resist buying his coins for cheap! It's Zurqieh.
So, I know nothing about this seller, but I will say, I love that he has a category called, "COINS I ADMIRE EVERY MORNING WHILE HAVING MY COFFE"
Well at least it wasn't the seller I've recently had issues with! I've read quite a few posts here though about his questionable aka fake patinas. I've seen cheap coins from him but have refrained from buying because of all the less-than-stellar posts here on CT. I hope you get the other part of your order.
I have been back and forth about getting one of these acrylic frames for coins, but after seeing this I ordered two. I too want to ADMIRE MY COINS EVERY MORNING WHILE HAVING COFFEE. It’s an excellent category.
I've had that happen when buying a rare Scots coin on Vcoins - it was priced low and I think the seller realized that and came up with a story on how they "lost" the coin. Needless to say, don't even look at what they have to sell now.
I got FFIVN one of those clear acrylic frames for his Athenian Owl. I can't recommend it. Perhaps the coin is too heavy? I don't know, but it keeps sliding down to the bottom of the frame. I was very disappointed.
I would message Mr. Zurqieh through VCoins. No reason not to ask, though it shouldn't be necessary. It may be that the coin sold in another venue and hadn't yet been marked as "sold" in VCoins.
Thats the Zurqieh issue too. I got a tracking number quick but UAE? Took a while (this was 2019) and it feels like everything is taking a whole lot longer right now. Little strange you got no info.
Coin previously sold or cannot be located is the easy innocent explanation. No reason to think otherwise (e.g. coin mispriced) unless you've information to contrary. Would like to note a related issue in recent months. Purchases cancelled due delivery issues - due pandemic shipping probleme - due brexit shipping problems - due export issues eg ex Italy - due one of above making it uneconomic to ship low value coins such as when seller will now only ship by courier An increasing number of VCoins and MA dealers have noted restrictions on where they'll ship to, eg only inside the new-shape EU, or how they'll ship. It's often in the item description but not noted in checkout and can lead to cancellations and refunds. Happened to me
