No, you're exactly right. They mint them first but I am thinking of the Mint wrapped rolls tho and not the pennies contained within. The Mint wrapped rolls are what is selling for big$$$, not the cents themselves.

And if you're looking for the definition of lunacy there it is.

I collect just to collect. I only ordered one set, and that is going in my collection.

I know that NGC does make special FDI roll holders. If you look in any of the recent issues of Coin World, you will see there are a few dealers who are selling them. They will now seal and certify your rolls for you. Don't know what the requirements are though. I think PCGS may do the same, but I am not sure.

I believe the key word is "dealer", to be able to send them in.

As of today, it's finally in California. Probably gonna come soon. Says estimated delivery is May 30. However, the facility it is at is like maybe 25 minutes away so might get it sooner.

And mine have finally shipped, too.

The bad news is the mint order page now says orders for LP2 will be available for shipping on 6/19. I always take their shipping date estimates with a grain of salt, but my order did initially say 5/29 before being changed to July, and finally shipped on 5/27.

The 6/19 date, if accurate, leaves a little less than 3 week head start for ebay. I'm still considering returning them for a refund.

    Got mine today!

I have no idea what time . . . they were in a box just leaning against my front door (out in the open where anyone could take them) when I got home from work.

But, in any event, I got five, and I'll put one up on ebay tonight and see what happens . . . .

(For those who are curious, my order went in around 12:09 according to my clock, and 12:13 according to the receipt, on the first day.

I got mine sent yesterday, and my friend ordered his 20 minutes after me and got it recieved today. It's not something I'm going to sell right away as I'm hoarding these. I wonder why no dealer I know has much interest in them ?!?? I believe the last of the four years (LP4) will do almost as good, but not quite, as the LP1's because it's the last of the series.

I got my US Mint set (P & D) the other day and all four coins on the ends of the rolls looks quite nice. I was really tempted to crack them open, but restrained myself.

Is there anything special with these, LP2s, like a known doubled die?

Well, did anyone ever find any of those Double Dies in their mint rolls?

113 not counting proof and satins.

General consensus for a favorite is the WDDR-006, CDDR-009 aka "skeleton finger".

The majority of ddr's were in the mint rolls.

I was just wondering if it was worth breaking open the mint rolls I got from the mint. What should I look for? I mean what was the common DD you found?
