I don't collect paper money so I am trying to get rid of 4 circulated $10 from the sixties. Here are the dates 1963A, 1969, 1969A & 1969B. I tried selling these on the latest WINS auction for $40 and I had no luck. And I have taken them to my local coin club to see if anyone wanted to swap $40 for these $40 and no one wanted to. Its almost like people want me to give them $40 for $20 in trade. Anyway, I just feel guilty spending them because they are over 40 years old and wanted to know if there is any value to these? Based on common sense, I would guess in their condition, they probably are just worth $10 each, but I thought I would ask. I put them away since I was a kid, probably over 20 years ago so they are in decent shape. A lot of folds and creases, but no tears. Thanks. Joe
That's crazy...a 1969B in decent shape could be worth $40 all by itself. Do you have photos of the notes?
There are several paper collectors here. Please post pics. Your coin club members lost an opportunity. bob
book show 63A, 69 and 69A Xf=$15 69B $60 in XF. I call 1st dibs if you are selling on the open forum!.
Well, I appreciate everyone's interest. Attached are the pics.....two notes per post. Of course with the 69B having the biggest potential and it is the worse one. Go figure! You all may not want them after you see them.
Nothing wrong with those at all Joe...will make some fine pieces for someone's collection. Even the worst of them should bring a few $$ over face... These will make some folks here very happy! WTG! RickieB
Thanks Rickie! When I was a kid, I had 4 paper routes, and every time I saw an old note, I pulled it out. I have basically collected a full collection of $20's, $10's, $5's and $1's starting from 1950 to present. I just recent got rid of my $5 for face at my local coin club, but nobody wanted my $10's. I am keeping the $20 and $1's for now, but may part with them in the future. I should have really taken my own advice and come here first before I sold the $5's. I had a bunch of red seal ones and maybe even a blue seal one. :headbang: Oh, well.... live and learn.
Ya, come here next time. I know many people here, including myself, will pay over face to give some notes a good home!
I'm in no buying position at the moment, but for those notes, I'd pay over face for each one... AT LEAST.. I don't know much about paper, but those notes seem to be worth more than face They are fine looking notes! Wonder why nobody wanted to trade for $40???
Those are nice notes. They aren't worth a lot over face but someone would pay a couple dollars over to add them to their collection and save them from the shredder.
