Yesterday I went to my coin dealer and bought a Dansco Walking Liberty Half Dollar album. Today, I'm starting work on my collection.

After looking through my coin boxes, I came up with my starters. I still need to go to my safety deposit boxes, where I think I'll find a few others.

What I have so far, and what I would grade them at, follows:

    1933S F
    1945 F
    1917 VG
    1937D VF
    1934S F
    1947D VG
    1942D VG
    1936S VG
    1939 F

It's kind of exciting to start something new. I guess that's what coin collecting should be about --- getting excited.

    :) :)

Good luck Gary as this set, in any condition, is really a challenge so I hope you enjoy every minute of the hunt! Got to love those empty albums and hate those empty holes!

You are already off to a fantastic start Gary !!!

I started my collection last October and it has really been a challenge. I decided at that time to try to collect everything in VF condition. I am about 3/4 complete, but am finding them more difficult in VF only. So now resorting to collecting the early coins in F condition and VF when I can find them.

The challenge of completeing a set is what makes this hobby so great !!!!

I have been working on this set for a guy I know...I just got done with 1936-1947...now I'm going for the 1916-1935...the best part is I get to pick out the coins (or at least some of them) and he pays for them...I have also worked trades and such...this is a fun set to do...maybe someday I'll do one for myself!

I've finally sot into this set after completing the Kennedy and Franklin sets. In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful sets! But unlike the Kennedy and Franklins, the WLs are hard to complete an entire set in high grades. Good Luck!
