The newbie is back. After going through about 1/4 of my half-gallon penny jar I wasn't sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me or I found a nice DDO. The tops of the letters certainly look doubled as well as the date and loops in the "S" & "O". After several tries, this is about as good as I can do on the pics. What do you think? Thanks - Curt

The pics are bad need better ones, but it looks like the images are raised, but need more clearer pics I think it's die deterioration doubling images are mushy in apearance and distorted not clear rounded images like a doubled die should be.I ALSO SEE DOUBLING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE LETTERS DOE'S NOT HAPPEN ON A TRUE DOUBLED DIE.

Thanks JC, I'm working on better pics and I'm going to experiment after work. I've got a good close up camera but need a better lighting scenero and a way to hold the camera steadier. The letters on all the other coins I looked at yesterday seemed so crisp in comparison to this one. It almost looks like a printed drop shadow font. Once I figure out the picture thing I'll post another colse up. Thanks for your time.

You might try focusing your camera through a magnifying glass or loupe. I did that with some luck before I got my coin microscope.
