During Victoria Day weekend my dad and I were going in a camping, fishing, hunting trip in northern Quebec. There were all sorts of little towns, and as we got into one...BAM...there stood a massive coin, a massive 1908 gold sovereign. Except it wasn't gold, just gold looking metal, darn The reason for the coin is because the town, Virginiatown, Ontario, celebrated the 100th anniversary of a gold mine in the area. In 2008, it erected the sovereign in celebration. A very cool celebratory monument in my opinion, what do you think? Here's the bad boy... Reverse: Obverse: OMG! Doubling! Super rare!: And here's my sovereign...just got it today... I hope you guys and gals enjoyed that. I sure did, and was quite surprised too.
