NGC Labeling Question

I have a question about submitting coins to NGC. I have a couple gold coins I would like to submit (one to NGC and the other to NCS) but I was wondering about the labeling on the slab. I have seen in the past that some coins can be labeled as if out of a collection or a hoard. I have also seen on multi coin NGC holders custom titles.

These two coins came from my grandmothers estate and I would like to have them slabbed. Ideally, I would like to have her name printed on the slab showing the coin's were part of her estate. That way those could be distinguished from the rest of my collection. I would like them to stand out from the rest. They aren't anything super rare...but they are special to me. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Give them a call and ask.
I have called NGC a number of times, always with very pleasant customer service.
They are polite and take the time to get you the answer to your question, immediately if possible, ASAP if not.

    NCS hasn't been so accommodating.
    I'm not happy with them.

I thought they were pretty much the same company.

They are associated, but separate as I understand it.

So you want them to make a custom label???
I imagine if they did do that, it would cost you quite a bit

    I doubt they do it...
I mean, do you think they would do this on a label?

IMO if you want to pay for it, yep, they'll do it.

    Here's from the NGC website
They don't mention how much it would cost though.

I know they do it for the multi-coin holders...look here at the bottom of the page:
    http://www.ngccoin.com/services/multi-coin.asp

I know they have done it in the past for hoards or collections. One example is the famous Battle Creek Collection. Here is a pic I found online:

Raider, thanks for the bit of info..
That would be kinda cool, to have your last name, or something like that, on the coin! :D

Yep, I'm not 100% sure but I believe PCGS is more strict. I think the only way to get the pedigree is to have a set in the top 5. Here's from their site. PCGS Set Registry - Benefits

I don't know about PCGS or NGC but I know that Dominion offers this service on any coin for a fee of $2.00 per coin.

I thought there was a minimum number of coins to have this done.
It's worth a call to NGC to check it out.

Nothing against Dominion...but I'm going to stick with either PCGS or NGC for these coins. I think Dominion is on the path to being a great TPG but I'm not sold on them yet.

Ok. I don't want to hear anyone ever complaining again about "First Strike" or all those other silly designations they put on their labels!!
