I know that not only do we collect coins but many of us collect other stuff, I need to get some information on stamps. If any of you are stamp collectors, where can I get some info on older world stamps?

No idea if this place is any good, because I don't do stamps, but here is a stamp forum run by another coin forum I read...

I of course don't know about where you live. But, most of the coin shows here in Tampa also have some people selling stamps. If they do this where you live you might obtain assistance from some of them.

I've never seen a stamp shop or any one at any shows here in Utah. I'll keep looking but I'll also check out some stamp forums.

I've collected stamps on and off for many years - right now it's in the dormant stage.

I second the link by hrhomer - that's an excellent forum if you want to find out details on such and such a stamp. If you have some clues about the stamps, you can try to hunt them down on the Internet or on ebay.

I do that sometimes with foreign coins (which I don't collect). I'll grab a handful at the coin dealer and then in my down time, I search them out on the Internet. Fun, relaxing and entertaining.

BTW, don't expect your stamps to be worth a fortune - their value has taken a severe hit unless they're pristine and scarce.

Stamp collecting is pretty darned cool for all the variety, beauty and relative low cost.
