A pfennig is a German penny. Both the German Federal Republic and the German Democratic Republic (West and East German, respectively) issued that denomination in 1950, but the G mintmark pegs it as West German, since the Karlsruhe Mint was in the Western Zone. (You must have a G, since the C mint mark was last used in 1879 by the Frankfurt Mint.)

The new 2006 33rd Ed. Standard Catalog of World Coins values a 1950 copper plated steel Karlsruhe KM#105 at 10¢ XF, $3 Unc. and $5 Proof.

The obverse legend "BUNDES REPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND" means Federal Republic of German and surrounds a 5-leafed plant, with the date at the bottom. A large 1 is in the center of the reverse, over "PFENNIG" with wheat stalks arching over it.

Sorry about that. I was looking at the 1 pfennig [IMG].

The 1950G brass plated steel 5 pfennig (KM#107), is actually listed at $1.50 XF and $5 Unc. Krauss claims there were 1,800 proofs, which it values at $25. Also, according to Krauss, there were no 5 pfennigs minted from 1951 through 1965 at any mint.
