with out it in hand my guess is in the AU range--slab is not helping!!

The coin is beautiful...but it looks like you used your slab to slide furniture across a tile floor ;)

I agree with the rest...AU, but hard to be more specific from the pics...

I take it is a weak strike so I will say AU-53.

My thought process is a little bit different than the others. I see the coin in a slab (possibly older PCGS) so lets assume it is not whizzed. That means we are seeing luster all over the coin. The luster would be broken if that were wear on the high points. Therefore, let’s assume it is weak strike & not wear. With all these assumptions, the coin in the photo might be MS63.

    It’s just a guess.

    Very best regards,

I'll go 64. You can polish the slab and get rid of most of that.

My eyes hurt trying to see through the scratches on the plastic. IMO, if that's wear on the eagles breast I'll go with AU 50. It's a very nice coin with great color.

I'm going to say AU55. It looks like there are some luster breaks on the high points but it could just be the lighting.

Here's what jumped out at me :
    • nice luster
    • obviously circulated
    • weak strike, particularly reverse (very little detail on the wreath veggies)
    • probably heavily lapped reverse die, based on weakness / shallow relief of ONE CENT
    I'm thinkin' AU50. Maybe XF45.

900fine, do you have any XF FECs you want to sell? ;)

my guess is that it's a slider. AU-58 would be my grade from the pics, as with the marks on the slab it is hard to see the highest points in the design. If it has no wear and is UNC, then I would say MS-63

I thought this was tricky because the strike is SOOO weak yet there is no wear and the luster is really good. The scratched slab made it a bit tougher to grade though. 61 seems like the correct grade to me.

    MS61???
Seems wrong to me...There is wear right outta the gate, on the eagle, near the breast... And there looked to be some on, or near the wings...
Don't know how it got uncirculated, maybe just the luster, but anyway, nice coin ;)

The pics of the PCGS slab won't load, but it is deemed a 61. The luster is unbroken in the areas you mentioned.
