Looking at it some more, I might be willing to say MS67...Final Answer :D

I'd like to think it graded 65 because of hit on cheek (prime focal area), but booming luster as these frequently have may get the coin a 66.

I'll take the conservative route and guess 65.

I am caught between a 65 and 66. That scratch on the cheek is what is throwing me off. I would guess a 65. If the scratch on the cheek is on the plastic than I would say 67.

NGC may have great it a MS-66? it has a strong rev as most 1953 are weak

    SWAG is MS 67

Is it an MS 67? It appears to have much luster & sharp strike on 53S. I'm guessing at the mint mark being an S so I'm also just making a SWAG at the grade. Nice coin.

    Very best regards,

Very nice coin with great luster. I don't see any contact marks so, IMO, I'll say MS 66.

Then 66 or 67. Provided the coin is as hit-free as the pics (and your description) make it, luster will be the major determining factor. I'll guess 66.

63! Can get around that heavy BG directly in the primary focus area.

I'm surprised no one has asked for closer images. After this thread, http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t54515/ I have learned to really look closer. I suppose the fact that it is slabbed has lead people to assume it is higher in grade to begin with.

The coin looks very nice to me and boy do I like Washington's!!!!!!!

When you click(twice) on the image, the quarter magnifies to about 120+mm across.;)
