Delivery confirmation, didn't happen. Was stuffed in my mailbox. I almost had to change my pants when I saw it jammed in there. I'm going to the post office tomorrow to try and keep this from happening again.
Were your babies damaged??? If they were, you need to get some cash from the post office!! This is ridiculous, and you should not stand for this! THIS IS TOTAL BS! The postman couldn't have rang the doorbell, after taking them to your door, (or don't know what kind of mail system you have, but he could have given you a separate key, in your box, and you go to the bigger boxes, ex: 1p, 2p, that are below all the other boxes) JUST TELL ME YOUR BABIES WERE NOT DAMAGED!!!
No, not damaged and only 1 baby. But it really freaked me out. I was at home, car in the driveway, front door open, yelling at the dog for barking (didn't know why she was barking then, now I do). How do I tell the post office I'm getting mail that is worth XXXX and if it gets bent, value is lowered and not have them steal my mail? Mail was being stolen last year and saved in a storage unit, the perp was caught.
I don't know... I'd be careful about saying, "Hey, I'm a paper money collector, and I have thousands of dollars worth of things in my mail, just tell the man who delivers the mail not to bend it, because there is thousands of dollars worth of things in there, thank you for understand I have mail, that is worth thousands" LOL Good luck! My mailman is usually pretty good at not bending things.. Well, glad the baby didn't get damaged!
Was this the 1899 $2 you bought? As for how to tell them? Just tell them they are photographs. Nobody wants to steal those (unless you tell them your a Playboy photographer or something) and they'll understand not to bend them.
I've had that happen a few times with packages like that (not from Heritage but the same kind of packaging). It's very irritating.
i get all my coins and notes sent to my work. We have a loading dock and personnel that sign for all packages that enter the building. So i know nothign will get stolen from ym box. i would complain to the PO, but i wouldnt expect anything to change. Unless the package is marked fragile or do nto bend, how do they know?
i got one of my packages from heritage like that. i had the same reaction just about lost it. luckily the notes werent damaged. my first package from them they left at my door. i feeel your pain
That realy is a lovely looking note thankfuly it has sufferd no damage :hail: and I can sympathise with your anger at the mailman I actualy caught one idiot attempting to bend a large envelope to fit it through the letterbox and I was in!! it had do not bend photo enclosed in BIG RED LETTERS on it (It was a signed photo of Desmond Llewelyn who played Q in the Bond movies) His excuse he did not see the warning LOL
Noost... I love that note and it is on the list for sure!! I am thrilled for you that you won this! I was outbid on the note I wanted but hey, cant win em all ya know! What I did with my postal carrier is the following; 1. Told her and her supervisor together (same time at the P.O.) that I was a collector of rare currency! I also explained that all mail comes registered or certified, except a few from this company, but they are insured. Believe me they do not want to pay a claim. I have had the P.O. folks drive to my home to hand deliver some packages that they do not let the carriers take!! Works out weell for me and have never had an issue! Good luck! RickieB
Thanks for the tip RickieB. I trade recipies with the main lady at the PO, so that sounds like it would work for me as well. Welcome Back!
Nooost...thanks... My doctor just called and I had a torn ACL in the right knee!! I thought it was a cartalige problem....guess thats why I am not a Dr....LOL Yep my P.O. works with me very well. Good luck with that, oh I always throw them a bone at Xmass as well... $20 Starbucks Gift Card and a crisp new $5. RickieB
