I would say its a xf40 and yes it has toning to it.

I'd say a solid VF-35, but it could go XF-40. ;) And yes, it looks to have some brown-ish gold-ish toning.

    Nice! :thumb:

I would bet that coin has been cleaned from those pictures

well the coin has been cleaned. Even at that , at the current bid , it's still worth it.

But the seller write to me that the coin is not

cleaned and was not old cleaned?

I didn't notice that the seller has only 25 feedbacks... 100%..

    Is The seller professional?

    Thank you.

It looks to be dipped based on the pictures, but I can't be sure. ;)

I am not familiar with the seller and 100% feedback should be taken lightly. The coin has been cleaned . But as I stated earlier , it's still a relatively good buy at that price.

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

I'd net it down to VF.

Hi, yes I won this coin.

In Israel said that the patina of silver coins , come back to the

coin after some time. someone told me that the patina come back

after half year , and someone said that the patina come back after

several years, I dont know exactly about cleaning silver coins.

I will be glad If someone can explain this problem.

    Thank you.

Looks like the coin sold for $68.76. Not a bad deal I would say. As far as the cleaning goes, unless it was a harsh cleaning, I have heard that about 99% of the bust halves have been cleaned at one time or another. That is just what collectors did.

I agree with all of that. And yes - given time it will retone, but I can not predict what it will look like, nor how long it will take.

Well yes, this coin is a VF, going on EF, and has been cleaned at some time
A lot of busts have been cleaned and dipped, some busts at this grade are more of a silvery color, and most, don't pass over at grading
This bust, has retoned, since it's days of being cleaned, and is a very nice one
You can see, in some of the higher grade busts, that the coins do have a more silvery color, although it is hard to tell if the coin is original or not. Most bust collectors, may have cleaned or dipped coins in their collection, and honestly, don't even know it, because they think, that if the coin is in a slab, that means it can't possibly be cleaned, which is not entirely true. Beware of buying raw busts, over the internet, as it is always better to see, not just busts, but any coin in hand before buying.
I see that this bust has sold already, well if you picked this up, congrats, it is a nice coin for the money, and I'd be proud of it, if you didn't then you still did out okay, and there will always be another

Congrats AVI , turned out to be , in my humble opinion a fair price . Nice addition to your collection , even though it is cleaned. I would not be overly concerned about that issue.
