I came across this beauty in a roll of weat cents of the same date, there are a few others which have some rainbow on them also, but this one has the most I think. I just wanted ideas, and grade and value estimates. edited thank you. Decription: both sides are very shiny, it must be uncirculated, as it came from a uncirculated roll. there is only a few nick marks, on it which you can see on the pict. the front is not as colorful as the back, only a small rim of redish on one side, and the rest being a nice toned copper color. the back is the neat part showing reds, greens, and some blue?
Neat!! There are 2 stories for toned coins, however.... 1. It's dirty... Worthless! 2. It's beautiful!! I'll fight for it!
the front picture didn't do it justice, that pict makes it look like it's a brown, while it's more of greenish bright copper color, much different then the brownish it looks.
here is a better picture of the front showing it's toning, I had to take it at an angle, sorry my depth of focous is not in the entire picture.
You're probably not going to like hearing this, but you did ask. In my opinion this coin has been harshly cleaned, then polished and then artificially toned. Because of that I would say its value is 1 cent. As for grade - coins like this can only be net graded. In this case I would say VF at best.
