Things have been kinda busy for me lately causing me to put my collection on the back burner over the last few months. (I used all my saved pennies in my first quarter purchases :smile). Anyway the Goldberg Auction gave reason to peak my interest again. World gold prices looked strong across the board last night at the Pre LongBeach auction. I viewed the entire world gold auction online although I didn't find any "deals" (I wasn't looking or willing to spend a lot of money), but I did bid on several pieces and was only successful on a 1864A French 50 Francs (Napoleon III tete lauree) in MS-62 grade; which I picked up for an "OK" price but far from a deal, IMHO. .
It's absolutely beautiful! :thumb: I've been trying to get a gold piece such as this myself, but they always seem to get out of reach! Anyway, nice pick-up!
These pieces can be stunning in higher grades, beautiful in any grade ! Another nice type for your collection Conrad :thumb:
