I have a weird looking dime - it's a 1987 p eisenhower dime - has the copper inside only - missing is the silver on top and bottom- i think they are called sandwiched coins and i have the meat no bread - lol - worth anything?

First, Welcome to CoinTalk. Second, You must mean the Roosevelt dime. Take a picture or scan so maybe we could tell you a little more about it.

It is an error coin missing the clad layers. Don't give up so easily.

I believe its an error - its a perfect sized dime and the print on it is very clear but the dime is thin because its missing the silver - i wish i had the means of a pic but don't. I was wondering if anyone here ever heard of this before.

Yes, there are other errors where a clad is missing, and they can be worth a premium. But it is really difficult to tell without that pic. Do you have any friend with a digital camera or scaning capabilities?

I do have a digital camera but don't have the knowledge of how to put a picture online.

take the picture and put it on your computer. Then, when you go to reply to this message, click on "Go Advanced." Then, type your message, and click on the paperclip icon above the message. A new window will apear. Click on "Browse," which will let you search your own computer. Then, simply find the picture you just put on your computer and click on "open." After doing that, go back to the window in which you clicked "browse" and look to the right and click "upload." This will take a little bit of time, afterwhich, scroll down and close this window. Then post your message and your picture will be there.

    Good luck.
