Question - Nickel

    Hey so i gotta quick question.
    Today i found a 1971 nickel with no mint mark on either side and i hear its really rare, only like 2000 pieces? Is this true?

    I'm going to say no -
    It IS true that there are 1971 nickels without the mintmark that are pretty rare (we don't know a number) but those are PROOF's.

    I'm betting 9-10 that your's is a business strike - common to find in circulation.

    Post a photo and we will be able to tell for sure.

    If you found it in circulation, than I'm willing to say it is not rare at all...
    If it is a proof coin, than yes, you have a rare coin on your hands :)

    One of 106,884,000 minted doesn't sound rare to me.
