I've learned as a seller on ebay, that it is hard to please everyone, but I don't understand why people can't give out 5 star ratings... Buyer paid me, exactly when he won the item, and I told him I would ship next day (It ended at night) I shipped it out, and it got to him in 2 days I got feedback today, which is the day he received it, and I got 4 stars, on shipping charges, and it was free, I got 4 stars on shipping time, he got it in 2 days, and got a 4 on communication, left feedback when he paid, sent message when I told him I shipped, and paypal or usps must have sent him confirmation email, and item as described I don't know how many stars I got, because I had a 4.9 already, and it is still 4.9 So now, I have all 4.9's, which I am okay with, but I just don't get it, if you have a perfect transaction and experience, why leave 4 stars??? I EVEN SENT BONUS COINS! Well, I guess if you sent $100 Bills along with every purchase, they would leave you negative feedback, and it would say something along the lines of "Extra/Free $100 Bills were in terrible shape" I buy on ebay as well, I leave 5 stars for all transactions, that were at least good, and I have left 1 neutral, and 1 negative ever. (Shipped wrong item, no refund offered, and took 18 days to ship, and didn't receive before Christmas) The last somewhat bad feedback I left, was a positive, with a low star rating on shipping charges, and time. Which really is not that bad of a feedback So, what I don't understand, is why can't more ebay BUYERS be more understand of sellers...Or at least be more of a buyer like me (And most of y'all)
People are fickle, me now, me always, why aren't I getting a better deal in this everyone wins society. You just can't please them no matter how much you give.
I usually leave 5 stars if the transaction goes as planned. But I've left 4 or 3 stars if the Shipping and handling is $5-$7 and it comes in a regular envelope with a 42 cent (now 44 cent) stamp and the coin is wrapped in tissue. I always write and request that they would please pack securely. When the coin comes scotch-taped to a piece of cardboard then I leave a NEG. That only happened once. Even an ordinary transaction with a fair S&H cost and average delivery time should get the 5 stars. Bruce

If I did bad those buyers would be so far up my ___ Anyway, another thing you gotta hate is emailing buyers, and THEY don't email you back I have emailed three of them, that purchased things in APRIL and they have not responded to whether they have received the item or not And one item, shipped out on the 15th, I received back on the 30th of April, I've emailed that buyer of 5 times, and she has not responded. When I got the package back, it said "FORWARD MAIL TIME EXPIRED RETURN TO SENDER" So, I do not know what is going on...
I've never used the star rating system. I leave feedback and leave it at that. So, when I'm doing this, is it leaving a bad rating for the seller or does it not add or retract anything? I don't mean to lower any ratings, just dont have the time to play feedback all day. Guy~
I don't know exactly, but how many coins do you buy? It takes an extra 5 seconds, to leave (5) 5 star ratings on each transaction. If you buy like a 100 coins a week, than yes this would get a little tedious, but if you buy a little amount of coins, seller's really appreciate it, when they know their buyer is 1000% pleased
I guess I should be more critical. I bought something on the 12th that's still not here yet, and I've already decided to give 4 stars on shipping speed if it gets here by Saturday. I'm not exactly off the beaten path. It was also free shipping, so on that score I'll give 5 stars regardless. Anything that gets to me in 3 or 4 days - never mind 2 - would guarantee 5 stars across the board.
Who knows why they did it? They probably were completely satisfied and made a mistake or who knows. Just remember, we keep being reminded of the switch to digital tv every day for the last year and some people out there STILL do not understand what's going on or know about it, while others believe the digital signal will actually be full blown HD. lol It would not surprise me at all if somebody screwed up star ratings on ebay.
I also always give 5 stars. Except this time, I purchased an item, cost $100 (my biggest ebay purchase). Anyway, I messaged the seller asking for an invoice. It's been nearly 2 days, and no response. I'll have to leave him less than 4 when it comes to Communication. But I feel your pain too, I always offer reasonable shipping (sometimes free) and I've also received a 4 star rating for that.
To me the rating system is biased and always has been. Heck, I bust internet fraud all the time in my job where sellers have been using stolen credit cards for years to purchase then ship goods to 5-star satisfied customers. Until E-bay learns how to police itself better, I will not expect them to have an accurate rating system for sellers and buyers.
Happened to me too, I purchased an item, then after 10 days and no item, and no email replies, turns out the seller died the day after I purchased the item. And T$, sorry for my ignorance on my reply to your Morgan posting, I didn't realize you were a seller on eBay - I need to do more reading of posts here, then I would have probably known that before asking where you find your great coins!! I love giving sellers 5 stars and good feedback - I only had one that took 2 weeks to ship the item, I gave them low stars just for the shipping. But I try to be very understanding, after all, we're all human! May all my future purchases be from conscientious sellers like you!!

LOL I find myself as a good seller, 100% feedback, all positive, and 4.9 stars on everything This person might have just moved, and not got her email up or something like that, that is why I'm giving her about 3 more weeks...
Yes, you lower the DSR rating if you do not leave rating, as for the time it takes 5 seconds to click the stars. I personally use the same feedback saying so its copy and paste or just a double click and its still there.
You might want to read a book called "You Will Be Satisfied" by Bob Tasca. I think this book is essential reading for anyone in any service industry. In one part, he points out that no matter how good the customer service is, 2% of people will never be satisfied, and really it's a waste of time and resources to go after this segment. Let this be the 2% of your business that you let go to your competitors -- but they won't want them either.
