Funny thing is that the "Naked" Flying Lady 20 Centesimi was the 1st coin that got me into collecting coins ;)

tonight just isn't my night is it :D :D

I was just thinking how funny it was that a kid of 14 said that some people need to grow up.... :D

This is the biggest issue that I think 99% of forums have - you nor I can tell how someone is typing a post. I wrote that whole thing with a smile thinking how funny it was, but if I read it right, you thought I was trying to be rude.

Really, I'm known as a nice guy :D

    Speedy

BTW- I've added the rest of his comment into the quote just for you ;)

I believe this is the winner! But is this really a contest? I think a few of us got a little out of hand we forgot what is going on. At least I did.

    Well I certainly couldn't tell...
I might be 14, but I'm no typical teen, I have problems, and I was forced to mature early, I don't even know if my situation, as if I will live to be twenty
I've been around the block, and know all about this world, and I'm not going to pretend not to. I'm very opinionated, and I let people know it
I'm involved in politics, and have taught my mom a thing or two..
I don't think it is funny at all that someone who is 14, basically told all the people, who get offended by a naked body on a coin, to grow up...

I might be 14, but my parents, others, and myself, treat me like an adult

The U.S. is a very odd country in some ways. Portrayals of the human body without clothing even when done in an artful way are seen as "dirty" by some folks..

Europe and many other parts of the world have gotten over this..we've made progress..but evidently we have a ways to go..

Well, so far I haven't said WOW, so the quest is still out to find a nice looking gal on a coin!

I will be 29 this year and the best advise I can give is that the first step to actually being a genius is realizing how little you actually know. Humility is the best tool on any path, even the path of knowledge:goofer:

Yes, but my point was, speedy basically made me sound like an idiot, and make me look like a fool, just by simply posting "what are you 14" making it seem like because he is older, that he is the superior, smarter, one..
Speedy, I hope you LOVE the irony, of me, saying grow up...

Yes, but after that he clarified that he knew you were in your teens and was saying that you being around 14 and saying grow up was very good advise coming from a teenager. we both read it wrong and thought it was an attack.

Basically he was praising you and you and I thought it was an attack. He was actually asking if you were 14 to point out that your words were very wise

And I guess that I'm still reading it wrong...
Now I think I see what he was trying to say!
Okay, I can live with that

That is the problem, you can never tell HOW somebody is posting something...AND WHAT TONE it is in

And now we have peace, which is rare for a thread to go to war and everyone to come away happy. lol

    Thank you.

When I was 14, or 16, or 18 for that matter I would have NEVER told anyone to grow up. I would have just found that rude to my "elders".
When I saw him posting it, it was kindof like....wow....he said that! I mean....heck, most kids at his age would have been searching google for more.

    So yes.....kuddos to you.....
