In your opinion, what do you think is the most overlooked united states coin series
I think it is the Roosevelt dime...I personally think it is an ugly coin, but you can get great deals on high grade roosie's, and pretty good deals with the dimes with a FT designation...
    Now What Do You Think???

out of the ones you have up there, excluding other it has got to be the V nickel. It just has never gotten enough play over the years.

I was gonna say the Half Dime but you did not offer that as a choice.

I agree with the half dime.

Although overlooked and undervalued are two different things. :)

Roosevelt dime, half dime, half cent. I sometimes think the Seated Liberty coins are underrated too.

I definatly think the most overlooked coin is the $.03 one, really they are pretty cheap, and pretty old, like the non silver ones

At the prices they are at, I don't know. When you average out at $30 to $40 each for a halfway decent one.

Check some of the later mintages, looowwww. Probably will never catch on though as many collectors prefer large coins.

Yeah, but 1863 onwards are about $4-500. Don't quote me on the prices or dates, just running off brain-power tonight.:p

    LOL(the brainpower comment)
Considering the mintages, a low price in my eyes.
    21k mintage - 1863, 12k-1864, 8k-1865, 22k-1866, 4k-1867, 3.5k-1868, 4.5k-1869, then lower.

Well, I have a $30 budget, so to me its expensive.:rolling:

But, I see what you mean by the earlier lower mintages being about the same price as the higher mintages.

I'm stuck between two choices, a classic coin, and a modern.
The Two Cent: Short production run, a great historical coin, but not a hot series, and

Franklin Halfs: A 15 year run, a silver coin, not a hot series either.

ice Just happy to be here

I picked V Nickel's but I really wanted to pick two I do think Franklin Halves are over looked but I don't really like them but I don't like dead presidents on coins either. Ice

what about late minted seated half dollars? Mintage numbers are insanely low. 1878 and later. I know they are a bit pricey, but with mintage numbers in the tens of thousands or less?

But does this make them overlooked?
Does the numismatic community as a whole, over look these, and not consider them as collectible?
If they are pricey, I don't know if they can be overlooked..

Yeah, your probably right. I was just shocked that the extremely low mintage numbers

I was thinking about putting Franklins as a choice, but I think it was just because I didn't personally think they were overlooked
They do not sell to their full potential, but sell good
They are a somewhat popular series, not like Wheats, or Morgans, but they are popular, more popular than the choices I listed, IMO
