What wonderful gift did the postman have for me today?

    Really nice. Proof Walkers are tough to image. I have several that I just gave up trying to catch their real look. A proof with color is a nightmare to me.

    amazing coin, i can almost guarantee it looks better in hand! With less than 75,000 (dont quote me on that number) minted in ALL years, that really is a nice coin!

    You know guys, In the grand scheme of things I think you get a lot of coin for your money with these things. This coin has a retail number in the $650-$700 range these days... even in proof 65.

    Yeah I was thinking about $700 is about right. I would probably settle for a 64 if I decide to buy one of these. Proof walkers have been on my "out of reach" want list for awhile. I take it 42 is not a tough date for these (relatively speaking of course)?

    I like it because it's a wartime date... but yes, it is a relatively common date.
