i went out this morning, found a $2 note with SN # I 22395593 A wanted to find if serial # has any premium along with it; or if it's a good trader. will post my find in coins after work (got some silver dollars, quite a few halves, a few nickels and a lot of pennies)
coin finds 5/21/09 PENNIES --------- (1) 1963 (1) 1964 (2) 1969 (1) 1972 (3) 1974 (3) 1975 (3) 1977 (1) 1978 (3) 1979; one no mint mark (1) 1980 (8) 1982; one blue toned, one gold toned NICKELS -------- (3) 1964 (1) 1966 (1) 1975 HALVES -------- (1) 1972 (1) 1974 (1) Bicentennial (Gold Toned) (1) 1977 (1) 1981 (2) 1983 (1) 1986 (1) 1989 (1) 1990 (1) 1992 (2) 1995 (2) 1996 (1) 1997 (1) 1998 (i actually found like 10, but traded them all for older ones) DOLLARS --------- (1) 1971 (1) 1972 (1) 1977 (2) 1979 (Susan B.) (1) James Monroe Pres. ----------------------------------------- | ALL ON A $15 BUDGET; HOW DID I DO? | -----------------------------------------
If my math is correct, you paid face value for everything. Nothing in that list is really worth much, unless in very high mint state quality.
i grabbed 4 more rolls of pennies today before the bank closed, and i got (53) 1959 - 1982; and one that is "half-toned". also, Josh, are you saying that coins with "tones" like the blue toned '82 penny i found aren't worth anything above face?
i need to know if i should set any of the coins aside for potential of premium, or just cash them in (i have a VERY limited coin collecting budget, at the moment a total of $20 USD; most of it is in what i got above)
