MS64 is what I'm going to say... It is Mint State for sure No wear, and not a whole lot of marks, and feathers have some good detail
Yeah the feathers are well struck, but they look different than 1878-1904 feathers so I'm not sure if that was a design change or what...
I would say MS-65 because these are generally weakly struck and typically show a granularity on Liberty's cheek.
Too much chatter for a 64, IMO. Looks like a TPG 63 to me. However, the photo doesn't show the cheek and breast areas well -- and you can generally grade this series in mint state by simply looking at those areas closely (along with the fields) -- so I'm not very confident in my guess above.
If you look at a 1921 and a 1878-1904 you will see that the design is different. the profile of Liberty is smaller(1921) and of course the reverse is weakly struck compared to the other years.
I'll have to go with MS-63 , by these pictures. Is this coin PL , prooflike coins tend to show every little mark . Still a very well struck coin . rzage
I'm going to say MS63. It is marked up a bit but appears to have nice luster and is a good strike. Nice coin!
Thanks guys! I think a 63 is about right too. I don't know about PL, but I'm sure I could sell it as "PL?" on eBay and make a decent profit.
ok... I guess I missed on this one...I just didn't think it has that many dings, but all of you obviously see them
That has some great luster for a 21' :thumb:. A little hard to tell from the pics but 63 sounds about right, maybe even 64.
Since no one else mentioned it, I will, lol. You may have a VAM on your hands. There seems to be a die break in the bottom of STATES that goes into the O of OF. While this is fairly common on '21's, and it may not qualify but it is still worth checking out. Check out vamworld.com for more info and lots of pictures of the various '21 P VAMS. Nice coin by the way and I would have to agree with MS63
63 and potential PL but you need to have measured the distance at least 6 inches away and you can still read a the writing on a card in the reflection on the face of the coin if I am not mistaken. Can't tell if PL from the photo. Good eye appeal for sure.
No significant problems with the reverse. So the obverse will be what determines the grade. For an opinion from me I'd need a better obverse image. Too many of the important areas are dark. From what I can see I would say MS-63 minimum. Whether it makes MS-64 or not would depend upon what I can't see.
That's what I'm thinkin'. It's so hard to grade from photos, and my Morgan shots always look worse than the coin. My hunch is this one could pull tpg 64.
