A deposit of 5%? Why did he scan one side and take a picture of the reverse? Adjustment mark? $49,000? My head hurts! :desk:

Curiouser and curiouser. The 2x2 seems to say 1884D and the mint is listed as Denver. That mint made its first gold coins in 1906. Maybe THAT'S why the price is so high!

I see no mintmark on the actual coin...And the 1884 is not worth that much in a 65...

Maybe this seller can work out a trade with the licoln nickel owner. :)

The coin doesn't look too bad, other than the rim gash.

That said, $50k is beyond ridiculous. But then again, you never know unless you try -- just ask Anaconda. Oh wait, you can't. ;)

If he's talking about the rim nick between the 7th and 8th stars, it doesn't look like any adjustment mark I've ever seen.

Come on now Mike. Anaconda's prices were high, but the coins were fantastic. If you want to see moon money, check out duffydaddy1 on E-Bay. My favorite is the MS64* Battle Creek he has listed for $2,000.

He has a 1940-S Mercury Dime PCGS MS66 FB for sale for $3,000. How about a 1973 Canadian Dollar SP66 for $1,000. Now that is moon money.

He says: "THERE IS A SMALL NICK IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER. THIS WAS A FILE SCRATCH FROM THE MINT FOR ADJUSTING THEWEIGHT"

Interesting mint info there, I wonder who his source was?

    I looked at his stuff...
Cool toners, although some look kinda AT...
    BIG PRICES...
I wouldn't be willing to pay that much of a premium, on a toner...
I like some of his Franklin examples, but almost $1000 for MS65 Frankie...

    Seller's logic :

"It's a $50,000 coin, but I'll let it go for only $49,000. I'll save money with crappy photography, and pass the savings on to you !!!"
