I had the same problem with my Jefferson album, but my Lincoln album I bought at the same time was fine, so I've got no clue .
Here's what I did to get rid of the dust: First wipe it with a soft cloth, an old cloth diaper works best, be careful not to scratch the surface (examine it to make sure there is no a lot of debris on it). Next, dampin your cloth with a little bit of distilled water and rub ever so gently on BOTH sides of the slide. Then, and you will think this is crazy, spray a little blackflag ant and roach killer on the inside of the slide. This is the best stuff I have found for getting rid of dust. Instead of collecting dust, it will forever repell it. The stuff works great. The next think you do is use some fine sandpaper to rub the blackflag into the slides then put a mix of amonia and wd40 on it. Of course, I'm just kidding. I usually just wipe it off.
haha thanks. I actually took out one slide, and used compressed air. Then I took out the other and did the same, took a cloth and cleaned off the superficial dust (some of it was inside, hence the air). And that seemed to do the trick.
Get one of Dansco sleeves to slip it into. They work great as dust covers. You should really get 2 albums. One for real coins and one for the holey ones.
wow you had me going their for a minute. I was wondering what kind of funky toned coins you are getting after placing them in the albumn.
funny stuff, i didnt have any fine sandpaper anyway, except what was on my beltsander. and the ammonia and wd40 is unbearable.
