Went to the movies over the weekend. In the change I received when buying my popcorn I discovered a 1908 O Quarter Dollar. About a month ago I went out to lunch and got 4 wheat pennies in my change. Sure is fun when stuff like that happens.
Congratulations teajunkie! Now these are the kinds of "finds" I think are good enough to brag about. Keep up the good work.
Amazing! Where on earth did this happen? I've barely received a silver WQ in change, and my last was in 1979 in a grocery store in Dunedin, FL- yes I remember! And I attributed that to the fact that there are lots of retirees in FL... Don
Boy I am jealous! Great find! I've always enjoyed hearing stories like yours. What shape/grade was the quarter in?
I've never found a silve coin older than 1944 in my change, but 1908???, Im amazed It survived in circulation so long, unless somebody got into daddys coins. Is it worn down?.
I have found silver nickels and silver halves in circulations but never have they been this old. Speedy
I have never seen anything like that in circulation. But I have heard of people that actually use part of their collection, like old outdated quarters and such, when they buy things. This puts them back into circulation so that they may fall into the hands of some other collector, or spark someone's interest in collecting.
