Possible error on the wheat side of coin Hey I have a few questions! Is this an error coin, if so what kind? What do you think this coin is worth? What Grade is this Coin? I can put more pictures if needed, Leme know --Thankss
Thankss Okay I found it while going through 300ish pennies I bought at a coin dealer, is there any way I could find out its value? Or Like a range im curious about my find.
The red book list an AU at .30 not including the damage. So some may shy away from it because of the damage and others might be interested.
I know there is a difference! Most collectors of AU coins (new collecting) may not want a coin that to them is damaged. (In their mind.) It is called a strike Through Error. Only happens on one coin during the process of striking. I have one also. I'm just stating what the red book gave as a price for AU.
The coin I pictured I bought for ?? a few years back. It is a 1941. The finger prints are the work of the person finding it. There was a piece of wire on the coin. When he touched it it fell off. When I bought the coin the coin looked fingerprint free, so I figured it didn't happen. But a few years later the fingerprint showed up and then I knew the story was true. I take my images through a microscope with a camera I hold on the top of the scope shooting down the barrel. As for value.... It's a buyers market. You just have to find the right buyer. I'm mainly a variety Cent Collector, but every now and then I spot stuff that I feel is under priced and I'll splurge for it. I was offering both sides of the fence with my comment. I would hang onto till you find that buyer. BU brings in more money for errors. So I would not have a clue what it would be worth. Sorry, that's all I can add.
Unc. coin with strike trough error Unc. coin with strike trough error, not uncommon but a minor error. Value would be very little, less than $1.
