This appears to be a well-struck proof and we have to assume the CAMEO designation (you said it was raw).

According to the PCGS website a jump from PR63 to PR64 results in a $100 increase in value.

And if we go from PR64 to PR65, it jumps 5 fold.

Interesting coin. I'm wondering who would be willing to grade such a coin.

    PR63 PR64 PR65
    ---------------------
    100 210 950

and it jumps to almost $5,000 in PR68

    We need real pictures.

I think pf64 is about right...

I don't know if I would call the coin cameo based on the reverse pics. I think the obverse could be...but not the reverse.

    It is a nice coin...
Might grade at the area of 63-65, although I don't grade washingtons, or proof coins often.. lol
It is a nice coin, PCGS gives a PR63 at $100... Maybe high bid around $85 or $90, if you can get it that low...

I think based on the pics there isn't enough frost on the eagle to make it cameo. The wings don't have hardly any. I don't think this coin would qualify as a cameo example.

    As CamaroDMD said...

If it isn't Cameo, you got a common proof coin.

IF it is Cameo, then it has to grade to PR66 to get your money back.

Raw Proofs with a cartoon photo???? I don't think so.

In addition, the seller is has 1000's of feedbacks. Gosh, why didn't he get it slabbed?

I just think you need to look close at the frost on this coin. Compare it to that 1962 Cameo you bought the other day. Looking at the one you listed in the Open forum (I think it's the same coin)...compare the reverse of that coin to this one and you will see what I mean. The wings on the reverse of this coin aren't cameo, they don't have any frost like the slabbed coin you have.

if I don't pay, can I just take a neg?

I don't think buyers can get a neg...but you are breaking a contract if you do. You can retract your bid under certain circumstances.

It looks like the bidding ended and you won. I feel that it would be dishonest not to pay. You can contact the seller and see what he says, but I feel you are obligated to pay.

Yep buyers don't get negs anymore...

Just contact the seller, tell him you made a mistake in bidding, or something like that, most likely he will understand, and just give the next highest bidder a second chance offer

Well he has a return policy of 15 days so I assume he would just let me pay the $4 restocking fee.
