There are 7 coins here and I know nothing about them. If anyone has any insight on these coins and their history or where to find info on them, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please excuse the orientation of the coins in the picture, I scanned them all at once with the scanner.

    Thank you,

The top 2 from the left (Looking at the screen) are Byzantine, the bottom right I think is european of some sort (bit hard to tell) the rest are Roman. It would help iding them if you could post clearer pics of each individual coin :hail:

The second byzantine looks like Tiberius II?

The first campgate on the I believe is Constantine?

The one with the radiate head Aurelian?

Better pics or scans would be nice. Here's a site you can snoop around.

Thanks for the info so far and sorry the scan was so bad. Here are better individual scans. If these arent good enough I will try to figure out a better way to get some pictures.

    Thanks again..

Thanks for the link! I found something that looks close to coin #2. There is so much information and so many variants, its really overwhelming trying to figure these coins out.

Should I consider trying to clean these up a bit? It seems all the pictures of coins online are cleaned up with no oxidation or anything. If I should try to clean them up, what would you recommend that I use?

Here is a photo of a coin that looks similar to coin #2.

The last coin you posted is of Probus not Aurelian.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for RIC number 922,S

As far as cleaning them. I think your coins look pretty good the way they are. At most I would soak them in olive oil for a few weeks and maybe take a soft tooth brush to them.

That last one I found on one of the websites I found when trying to figure these coins out. It looks similiar to the coin #2 in the individual pics I posted (the one with the green oxidation). On the obverse he is wearing the same head piece as on the Probus coin and on the reverse it looks like the letters "CLEMENT...". Also, it looks just like those other coins, except it has what looks like an H at the bottom instead of an S or any of the other letters I've seen so far.

On the obverse of #4 it looks like the letters "CONSTANT.."

and on the obverse of #5 it looks like it says "CONSTANTINUS II"

Thats all I can find so far.

Do you have any idea if these are worth anything? I am planning on keeping them so its more of a curiosity than anything else.

    Thanks again.

Ok, now I see some Aurelian coins where he's wearing the same head piece. How do you tell these apart from the Probus? Ugh, I need to take a class or something.. heh.

Yes you're right. With the blown up photo number 2 looks like another Probus not Aurelian.

Clementia Temp means "A time of peace and calm"

Your coins are certainly worth something. Do ebay completed listing searches.
