Whats wrong with this Lincoln???

I was looking through a box of cents today, and came across this one. I have no idea what could have caused it. Any guesses? thanks!

Yes, that is a cud, and a very nice one at that. Notice the "C" in CENT is partially missing from the metal flowing into the missing piece of die.

So yes I'm going to agree with the three above, it is cud

As an error, the coin has a value added to it
Value could be around $4-$8 IMO... Redbook gives a $12 value, but yours has a little amount of the cud

 

Found another, although not so prominent.

looks like the cud's in the right spot (I'm not religious) lol, just kidding, Although I makes the coin look bad I'm sure that cud will increase the value.

I'm kinda curious as to what the mark is after the "a" in America though? is that a smudge or part of the coin?

Also, that coin looks nice for coming out of a box of coins!!

I will have to post the 1983 I found today - the die chip almost makes lincoln look like he has a tumor. Then on the reverse 3 of 4 corners of the memorial are cracked to rim. I wish the 4th corner was. Will post if I get time tomorrow. Gotta love die cracks, cuds and chips.
