prez van buren dollar. i still not see any offer from the mint except you have to pay big premium on it. anyway i just got one pc of van buren from penn station, new york.
it looks like the mint don't sell any prez dollar directly to the public. they have stop selling van buren and harrison.
Elaine. hope they dont stop either. i get 5% on my credit card purchases so all the little purchases i make every day sure do add up for my total. I think that the mint might want to unload what prez dollars that are already in stock. I saw someplace over on the PCGS forum recently that limit was rasied on the Prez dollars but i didnt see it on the mints web site here is link what Master Ike said - he is good  http://forums.collectors.com/messag...readid=706336&highlight_key=y&keyword1=direct Snowman
i think the limit for prez dollar rolls is still 500 pc. only. while the 2009 sac dollar is 5,000 pc.
the mint stop direct shipment to the public since president van buren. because the older issues are still plentiful. in the future, i project the mint will produce only 100,000,000 a year. that is 20,000,000 for each president and 20,000,000 for sacagawea.
Bank Rolls - How to tell P or D ? Question to all... When you buy a bank roll, lets say a 2009 D WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON DOLLAR UNC BANK ROLL, how can you tell if it is a P or a D mint without opening up the roll. There is no mark on the roll, right? Am I missing something? :goof: Help please...
if they come out immediately and you order it. most likely all will be the same mint mark. if it is long enough. like the washington dollar rolls. that might be mixed.
You can't tell without opening the roll BUT you can make an educated guess depending on where you live. If you are on the east coast ..your bank will get P coins. On the west coast, banks get D coins. The only tricky part is in the middle where there is some overlapping.
I hear ya on the location you live in but, what if you are buying from lets say.. Ebay? How can you be sure its a P or a D when they say it is. They may not know either...
why buy it from e-bay?. you can order direct from the u.s. mint and shipping is free. you also get 1% rebate from your credit card.
True. In that case you either have to trust the seller or not. If he has lots of good feedback, you might take a leap of faith. Why would he lie? A roll of president dollars is not worth the trouble.
I must be in the middle. I'm East of the Miss. and still get D from the banks around here. However, my direct ship coins were P mint...
getting a certain minted coin from the mint's Direct ship program has no basis of where you live. it just depends what they have in stock. I live in New York and this is what i've received from the Direct Shipped coins - Snowman 500 Washington - all D 500 Adams - all P 250 Jackson - all P 750 Native American - all D
these were what i got from direct shipment: and i did open the box. but did not check the mint mark. 500 madison 500 monroe 500 q.adams 750 jackson 750 native american box got it from the bank were: 500 washington 1,000 j. adams 1,000 jefferson roll got it from the bank were: 300 washington 300 jefferson well, i don't have van buren, harrison and the rest of the future. no plan to have them either.
even free shipping won't clean the mint presidential dollar rolls those without premium. but instead i saw people still buying the presidential rolls and bags with premium and shipping charge. crazy. isn't it?.
